Ana Alvarez was born in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz).

At the age of 13, she moved to Madrid with her family and at 17 years old she was given the chance to work as fashion model, she did so for the next two years, travelling and living in countries such as Japan, France or Greece. It was through this work that she was given her first part in a movie, JARRAPELLEJOS, by Antonio Giménez Rico.

After her admission into the Madrid School for Dramatic Arts she finally focused on her career as an actress, taking part in over thirty movies, various tv series and winning several awards for her performance in the internationally acclaimed LA MADRE MUERTA, by Juanma Bajo Ulloa.

The last award was on 2010. Ana Álvarez won the Silver Biznaga of Zonazine on the 13 Spanish Film festival of Málaga for her performance in the film SUSPICIUS MINDS directed for Carlos Martin Ferrera.   

Ana has been cast in several international productions, she´s performed diverse accents on screen and has also performed in English in movies like CRUSADER, where she was cast alongside actors like Michael York. She has worked with renowned directors such us Manuel Gutierrez Aragón, Ricardo Franco or Gonzalo Suarez and has appeared in a diversity of  genres, including comedies (CHA-CHA-CHÁ, BRUJAS or LONDON STREET), drama (GEISHA, EL REY DEL RÍO, UN DULCE OLOR A MUERTE) or action and suspense (BEST SELLER, GAL, COTA ROJA or PRIME TIME) and historical (CUBA). On television her most important work has been on Fassbinder´s LAS AMARGAS LÁGRIMAS DE PETRA VON KANT, made for TVE´s Studio 1, on the acclaimed tv series QUART based on a novel by Arturo Pérez Reverte and on ACUSADOS.
